I’m going to quit margarine

Margarine and butter, what’s the difference? I did a check and found out that both have roughly the same amount of calories, both are mostly fat (81%) , and no trace of fiber, but a little bit of sugar. So both are largely identical.

But the difference? Butter has been eaten for hundreds of years, and it is actually healthier. It contains many fat soluble vitamins that are highly absorbable.

Margarine on the other hand is high in trans fat, and has a lot of cholesterol. And I just read this part which I quote here:

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

YOU can try this yourself: purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things: no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)… it does not rot or smell differently… because it has no nutritional value, nothing will grow on it… even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Whoa, you can read the whole thing HERE.

And I just ate some margarine this morning, with my bread!

I must confess I never really liked the “artificial” feeling I have from margarine, so I won’t have any problem ditching the margarine and going back to butter anyway.
